The seasons have turned again and the nesting boxes in Bicknor Wood have been cleaned and repaired, ready for their new tenants. Some of them needed replacement after damage by Green Woodpeckers and Squirrels, while others have been repositioned to make them a more attractive proposition. Defences are not intended to be impervious.  Even a metal plate can't keep a determined squirrel at bay forever. It is hoped that  the protection will give the smaller birds a chance to fend off attackers until their brood are old enough to fledge.  The boxes are available for sponsorship to raise funds to keep Bicknor Wood safe, clean and open.
