The Plight of the Bumblebee

This weekend (July 30th-31st) sees the BBC Radio 2's Big Bee Challenge Weekend. Promoted by Zoe Ball and supported by Rob Beckett on his Bees in a Pod podcast. They are hoping that people will listen, learn and act to save the bees from decline. You can follow the challenge on social media at @BBCRadio2 and #BigBeeChallenge.

Pretty much the general desire is to increase peoples' awareness of the plight of the bumblebee and to encourage gardeners to plant more pollinator-friendly plants and providing nesting sites by way of bee hotels.
