Is it a bird? No, it's a Spitfire.

So, this post is not strictly concerned with the wildlife of Bicknor Wood, but in case you missed the spectacular display over the development on Saturday 29th, here are a few shots grabbed from the garden.

This is Spitfire T.9 TE308 (G-AWGB), converted to a 2-seater for training purposes and now flown out of Biggin Hill by Warbird Experiences. Read its history here.

It had been out earlier in formation with a Hurricane and with photographers alongside in a helicopter. Once the photo opportunity had finished, the pilot buzzed Bicknor Wood development, banking and returning 3 or 4 times, inverting the aircraft in a barrel roll on the penultimate pass.
