Remember the summer?

With some trepidation, but great expectation, a message was thrown to the ether and lo, a reply.

Thank you to Phil Riches who responded to the plea for pictures with some lovely photographs that brought back the warmth of the summer and autumn of last year.

Do you remember when the ground was firm and dry?

And even in the shade it was still warm?

At the height of summer the bluebells had passed and the frantic activity of the birds gave way to the gentle hum of the bees in the brambles.

Even as the summer conceded its place to autumn the leaves held and the warmth continued.

Despite all the trials and difficulties that the year had thrown at us, the seasons remained constant and the leaves began to turn.
